CARY, N.C. - The visitRaleigh.com Benefit Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the John Entwistle Foundation has morphed into a two-day classic rock festival that will now open the evening of September 19 at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, N.C. and will conclude the next night as was originally planned. By Melissa Santos 14.JUL.08 RALEIGH - Business partners Jason Howard and Jay Wellons originally planned on opening a restaurant, but when they saw the house at 605 Glenwood Avenue--previously the shoe and apparel store Firefly, and once the home of Mayor Avery C. Upchurch--they thought it would be the perfect location for a bar. When Howard and Wellons met at Mura in North Hills where Howard was General Manager, it spurned the birth of B&V Hospitality. They wanted to create something different from the other bars currently lining Glenwood South: an upscale yet casual neighborhood bar with "spirits & everybody," Brooklyn Heights' tagline. RALEIGH - At approximately 12:45am Saturday, July 12, Raleigh Police Department officers responded to a shooting call in the 3000 block of Spanish Court. Upon arrival, they located a victim who was deceased at the outdoor crime scene. The victim has been identified as Jesse George Brunner, age 26, who was generally known by the nickname "White Bread." Three men were arrested in connection to multiple area robberies
RALEIGH - Police have detained three men in connection with the robberies of nine local businesses. David Michael Wesley, 17, of Knightdale, Samuel Keith Kerr II, 21, and Raphael Davonne Powell, 24 (both of Raleigh), were arrested following the robbery of Tienda Todo Guerrerense at 1514 S.
